Student Policies & Agreement
Maple Leaf Driving School · Effective February 2026 · Version 1.1
Summary of Core Qualifications:
- Age Threshold: Must be at least 15.5 years old under BC provincial minimum safety brackets.
- BC Learner's Licence: You must possess an active, valid Class 7 L Licence for all practical sessions.
- Medical Fitness: Declared free of impairment or visual issues restricting standard operating rules.
- Minors (Under 18): Co-signature of a legal guardian is mandatory before processing track scheduling.
Program changes: Free within 7 days of enrollment. A $50 admin fee applies after 7 days.

- Full payment upfront — 5% discount
- Payment plan: 50% deposit, balance before lesson 4
- Individual lessons: pay before each lesson

Prices may change with 30 days written notice. Students enrolled before a price increase complete their package at the original rate.

Refunds processed within 14 business days. $50 admin fee applies to all refunds. Lesson credits expire 12 months from purchase.
- Minimum 48 hours advance booking (expedited $40 fee for shorter notice)
- Recommended frequency: 1–2 lessons per week for best retention
- Maximum gap between lessons: 3 weeks (skills deteriorate beyond this)
- Lesson packages must be completed within 12 months of purchase
- Extensions available for medical/exceptional circumstances ($75 fee, max 6 months)
- Unused lessons cannot be transferred to another person
- Arrive on time, well-rested, wearing closed-toe shoes
- Cell phone silenced and put away during all lessons
- No eating, drinking (except sealed water), or smoking in vehicle
- Follow all instructor directions promptly and respectfully
Zero Tolerance — Immediate Dismissal, No Refund
- Arriving impaired by alcohol, drugs, or impairing medication
- Aggressive, threatening, or abusive behavior toward instructor or staff
- Sexual harassment or inappropriate conduct
- Deliberate vehicle damage or reckless driving
The instructor has final authority over all safety decisions, including ending a lesson early or using dual controls.
- Complete pre-drive walk-around before each lesson
- Seatbelt must be worn — vehicle will not move until secured
- Report any unusual sounds, smells, or vehicle behavior immediately
- Never adjust radio or controls without permission
Students are not liable for normal accidents during instruction. Students are liable for deliberate damage or damage from ignoring instructor commands.
- We maintain records of enrollment, lessons, payments, and progress
- Instructors document skills practiced and ratings (1–5 scale) after each lesson
- You can access your full student file with 24 hours notice
- We never sell your information to third parties
- For students under 18, parents automatically receive progress reports
- Commercial General Liability: $2,000,000 per occurrence
- Commercial Auto: $5,000,000 per vehicle
- Instructor Professional Liability: $2,000,000
- Driving involves inherent risks you voluntarily accept by enrolling
- School is not liable for injuries unless caused by our negligence

Escalation: Student Services → Regional Manager → Compliance Officer → CEO Bal Sharma → Provincial regulatory authority.
Unresolved disputes proceed to mediation, then binding arbitration in British Columbia. You may file a complaint without fear of retaliation.
You have the right to:
- Safe, professional instruction in well-maintained vehicles
- Respectful treatment by all staff
- Privacy and confidentiality of your records
- Access your student file and progress reports
You are responsible for:
- Reading and understanding all policies
- Providing accurate, complete information
- Arriving on time and prepared
- Paying fees on schedule
